Gabriel helped us test Amoeba Math through its development last school year. She told us that she kind of liked the game and that she would play several times on the weekend. Gabriel had the highest test score in her classroom in May 2010 with 47 out of 50 math problems solved correctly. The second best scored 41 out of 50. Gabriel said, “I always have problems with numbers over six. But I had a problem that was six plus seven, and I remembered that it was thirteen from playing amoeba math.” Was Amoeba Math solely responsible for Gabriel’s success? No. But it certainly helped, as Gabriel herself stated. By the way, Gabriel will be entering second grade this school year.
